As Seen In The Jewish Press

In a surprise visit, Senator Kevin Parker came to the Masbia premises to see for himself the Masbia soup kitchen in action. “we are delighted with the senator’s visit,” said Rabbi Alexander Rapaport. “It shows a level of care and concern from his part for the most unfortunate in his district and for the entire Boro Park community.
Mr. Parker, state senator from the 21st district in Brooklyn, was seen donning a chef’s cap and serving many clients at Masbia. “For me it’s an absolute delight to serve; we know that caring for the poor is part and parcel of the Chnukah tradition,” said Mr. Parker. “Masbia exemplifies this tradition in the most appropriate way. That’s why I am proud to be here and to be a part of it.”
Towards the end of his visit, the senator was honored in lighting the Masbia menorah that was donated to the Masbia soup kitchen the first day of Chanukah. Another generous person donated a full week’s supply of the holiday’s traditional donuts, as an extra delight for the kitchen’s clients.
“It is so nice to see the care of so many in our community,” said Rabbi Rapaport. “Every yom tov we receive something extra from donors. This Chanukah was no different. Toys were donated for the many children who appeared at our doorstep.”
