Queens Soup Kitchen Renovation To Be Completed By Huge Donation From iFurnitureAssembly
Forest Hills, NY -- Wednesday, Jan 17, 2018, 10:00 AM -- ifurnitureassembly.com will donate and assemble the final furniture needed to speed up the opening and to serve hot dinner at the long-awaited Masbia soup kitchen in Queens.
"As soon as they finish assembling the sinks and countertops, we will start serving hot dinner immediately. We are not waiting weeks or days. This is the long-awaited final touch," said Alexender Rapaport, Executive Director of Masbia Soup Kitchen Network. "We are super grateful to ifurnitureassembly.com for their extremely generous donation," he added.
CEO, 30, Konstantin Melnyk, a Ukranian immigrant and the founder of ifurnitureassembly.com, started his business by following IKEA customers in the parking lot and offering to help assemble their furniture. He has turned it into a sophisticated business with professional designers, software engineers utilizing 3D blueprints, and teams of craftsman where they do the planning, purchasing, delivering, assembling, installation, and clean-up for the customer. Best of all, they are not affiliated with IKEA which means that they are always on the customer's side.
It has been over a year since Masbia served their last dinner at the previous location on Queens Boulevard and while Masbia has continued to serve people food on the street in a makeshift fashion, this will be the final part of the renovation of the new facility that will allow Masbia to serve hot kosher dinner again. The installation will include countertops, cabinets, a three compartment sink, and storage space for the hot boxes to be able to start immediately feeding the needy with dignity. Mr. Melnyk neither keeps kosher or is Jewish but is intrigued by the way Masbia serves everyone with respect and dignity regardless of their race, ethnicity, and religion.
"Before vacating the old site for an eight-story development project, Masbia of Queens served over 1 million meals a year. The new site will have the capacity to way surpass that", said Rapaport. "The renovation of the 3,000 sq. ft. storage is still going on and sponsorship opportunities are still available. This donation completes the dining room," Rapaport stated.
