She will package and distribute them at Masbia Soup Kitchen Network. The original goal was 500 Challah kits, but Kosher.com and the food brands Gefen and Glick's are partnering with Leora and Masbia for a matching challenge. They've agreed to match every kit donated with another kit, doubling the impact of every donation.

"Giving people basic household food staples is already extremely impactful and dignifying to the families in need, and that's why I'm a big fan of these Challah Ingredient Kits. Having a 12-year-old working together with the most famous names in Kosher food is a unique inspiration to get people to participate in achieving her goal", said Alexander Rapaport, Executive Director of the Masbia Soup Kitchen Network.

"For my Bat Mitzvah, I wanted to do something meaningful to help others, so I chose to pack these DIY Challah Ingredient Kits to give out at Masbia and I'm going to raise the funds to buy the ingredients", said Leora Nachman, who attends HALB Elementary School in Woodmere, NY.

"Every $8 you donate gets us a set of the 5 basic shelf-stable challah ingredients that my friends and I will assemble for my Bat Mitzvah. This Sunday, February 9th, I plan to start the first round of assembling the Challah kits and the final round of assembling will be at my Bat Mitzvah celebration on February 17th, so please donate as soon as you can," Leora said.
