Challah Ingredients Drive For 500 Needy Families - Fisher Angrist Bar Mitzvah Project - Masbia Soup Kitchen Network

$4,000 Goal Completed!

Dear Family and Friends,

I love eating challah on Friday night because my mom makes the best challah. My first memory of challah is from Kaplan Nursery School. Every Friday, they gave us challah for a snack and it was delicious.

Fisher_Bar_Mitzvah_Masbia_Challah_Drive.jpgFor my chesed project for my Bar Mitzvah, I am bringing challah to the needy! This past March, my friends and I assembled 300 Challah Kits at Masbia of Queens.  These kits contained all of the ingredients and the recipe for my favorite challah.  They were given out to diners at the kosher food pantry as take-home packages for Shabbat.

Spending a Sunday morning with my friends packing Challah Kits was both fun and meaningful.  We were excited to be on TV (link here), and felt great when the crates were stacked full of Challah Kits.  As I prepare my Bar Mitzvah speech, I am learning how important Tzedakah is, and want to continue this mitzvah.

I hope to raise enough money to assemble another 200 sets.  Each set costs $8, and contains flour, yeast, oil, sugar, and salt.  Please help me reach my goal for this great mitzvah. See below.

Thank you,
Fisher Angrist
