Ever wonder what makes a bird kosher? Ever wonder why the Gemara speaks about eating peacocks, yet we don't? Ever wonder what partridge, pigeon, and quail taste like? Join us for a multicourse gourmet dinner of unusual Kosher birds to be prepared by Chef Isaac Bernstein, Culinary Director at Pomegranate. Rabbi Chaim Loike, Rabbinic Coordinator for the Orthodox Union and world renowned expert on Kosher birds will present a live multimedia demonstration of the features that make a bird Kosher. The schechting of the birds on the menu was featured in a New York Times article. Chef Isaac will also give attendees insight into the process of preparing these birds. The meal will feature four uncommon species of Kosher birds, and Rabbi Loike will have close to a dozen live species of birds on hand for the demonstration. Buy your tickets now, supply is limited!
The event will take place at Masbia on Coney after the client meal is served. Doors will open at 8pm, and presentation to start at 8:20pm. The courses will be served in staggered stages to correspond with the presentation. Hosted and moderated by Chef Avi Levy. Dessert presented by Masbia's Chef Ruben Diaz.
