In Response to the Huge Increase in the Cost of Food: 1,800 Food Pick-up Appointments will be Added to the Breadlines each Week at Masbia Soup Kitchen Network - All families will also get a Box of Masks

(Brooklyn/Queens NY) -- Effective immediately, Masbia Soup Kitchen Network will add 600 appointments to each of the 3 locations to help families with the increased cost of food. This means that there will be a total of 1,800 more families who will have food every week. This reverses the course of Masbia trying to reign in it’s breadline footprint for the past six months.

In the photo, you will see people outside in the freezing cold with our propane heaters keeping them warm as they wait to get their COVID-19 emergency food relief. Also pictured is information on how to make an appointment as well as some of the food they would be receiving which includes chicken, tuna, oil, mayonnaise, eggs, fresh produce, and matzah that we picked up in food rescue. 

New York, NY -- Sept 2nd, 2020 --  September begins the seventh month of the COVID-19 emergency food relief at Masbia Soup Kitchen Network. It will also be the beginning of a concerted effort to modernize the breadline. Due to the unprecedented 500% increase in demand since the start of the pandemic, the breadlines have been snaking around the block with hundreds of people on the lines at each of the Masbia locations. Moving to an appointment system is a way to give people back their dignity, safety, and their time, since they won't have to wait for hours on the line.
