This story is written by Andy Newman, and photographed by Stephanie Keith, for New York Times, you can spot them wearing masks in the above photo. The Story is about those who make the miracle possible helping New Yorkers who still struggling for food after fifteen months since the pandemic started. Staff and volunteers in pantries across New York City tell their side of the story and difficulties to overcome to serve those in need. Our ED, Alexander Rapaport, stated: “The poor don’t deserve the rich people’s garbage,” while sharing Kosher food with the needy at Masbia’s three locations. But rescue also has its place in Masbia's operation two of our generous donors are featured in this story Grow & Behold and Manischewitz.

A photo of the 24-hour breadline at the Masbia of Queens made it into the NY Times. In the photo, you will see people outside in the freezing cold with our propane heaters keeping them warm as they wait to get their COVID-19 emergency food relief. Also pictured is information on how to make an appointment as well as some of the food they would be receiving which includes chicken, tuna, oil, mayonnaise, eggs, fresh produce, and matzah that we picked up in food rescue. 

On November 25, 2020, reporter Marie Gentric of i24News in French came to Masbia of Flatbush in Brooklyn to report on food banks overwhelmed in the USA due to the COVID-19 pandemic, including an interview with our ED Alexander Rapaport.

On November 5, 2020, reporter Rebecca Solomon from PIX11 News came to report on the new Masbia 24 hours operation because of the Covid-19 pandemic. She did one live interview with our ED, Alexander Rapaport, for the morning news and a second segment for the evening news.
