Yom Kippur is a fast day where we all can relate to the pains of hunger. The Prophet Isaiah, in the Yom Kippur Haftorah, says in the name of God: "Is this the fast I have chosen - a day when man merely afflicts himself? Surely you should share your bread with the hungry and bring the poor into your home... With that, your spirit will glow."
